DMTF Redfish® from release 2020.2 supports networking registries for physical layer faults. We are looking to work within the DMTF to extend the current NetworkDevice.1.0.1 registry messages supported in release 2020.2 to include link layer and control plane faults. Networking devices such as Ethernet switches or server hosted SmartNICs  can then make use of those registry messages in an open, vendor neutral manner. The following table lists those events and proposed additions.

Please provide feedback on these proposed additions. The aim will be to reach consensus by end of August 2020. New registries applicable to fabrics are in the process of being ratified by the DMTF. These are split across Fabric and Ethernet Fabric registries. Fabric registries consist of generic events such as Link up/down, whereas Ethernet Fabric registries are Ethernet specific and consist of events such as MLAG interface up/down.
